Owner Denis Harris inherited Harris Amusement Company after the death of his brother, John P. Harris, the state senator and businessman who opened the country’s first theater created exclusively for showing motion pictures, the “nickelodeon”, in pittsburgh, along with his brother-in-law harry davis.
